![]() ![]() Nos filmes britânicos, o gentleman – um homem elegante e educado, membro da classe dominante e consciente de sua responsabilidade social, que inclui ir para a guerra pela nação sem demonstrar suas emoções ou reclamar – é o tipo hegemônico.ĭuring the 1920s in the USSR, the theme of the Civil War became an essential part of the mass culture of the period, and more specifically of Soviet film production. The background of the film is music by Richard Wagner, Funeral March to the death of Siegfried from the Third Act of Twilight of Gods, Siegfried Funeral March-Götterdämmerung performed by Sir Georg Solti &Wiener Philharmoniker. The film was made on the basis of archival materials obtained from private and official collections. The fact of existence of the monument, in the years 1927-1945, in East Prussia, as the historical legacy of the German cultural heritage, for many years undoubtedly focuses a number of difficult topics related to the process of building a collective identity, aware of joint-heirs history, places of memory, also the problem of memory/oblivion, nullification, blurring traces. The latest one, after he came to the power, decided to attribute the monument as the National Monument of the German Reich. It reveals a fascinating history, in which was interwoven, among others, biography of Paul von Hindenburg and Adolf Hitler. ![]() They've already identified intact map cabinets, a tripod, and two thermometers. The team is especially excited about the latter location, since they expect to find preserved written documents, hopefully gleaning valuable information about the fate of the ship and her crew, along with details about their lives abroad the ship. They captured footage not just of the exterior but also of the interior crew's cabins and captain's quarters. The underwater archaeology team conducted seven ROV dives and explored 20 cabins and compartments on the ship. Now Parks Canada has released fresh video footage and images from their first underwater exploration of the shipwreck. Even some of the windowpanes were still intact. Thanks to the cold temperature of the water, the lack of natural light, and the layers of silt covering many of the artifacts, the ship and its contents were in remarkably good condition. That proved to be the tip the foundation's team needed it took them just 2.5 hours to locate the Terror. There had been rumors of sightings in the area, particularly from Inuit hunters, and one reported that he'd seen a mast jutting from the ice in that area a few years earlier. Almost exactly two years later, an Arctic Research Foundation team found the wreck of the Terror, in Terror Bay, off the southern coast of King William Island, some 62 miles (100 km) from where historians had expected it to be. The remains of the HMS Erebus were discovered by Parks Canada in September 2014, just west of O'Reilly Island, with the help of a remotely operated vehicle (ROV). Amundsen avoided Franklin's doomed fate by traveling along the east coast of King William Island, rather than its west side. Nobody successfully traversed the Northwest Passage until Roald Amundsen's expedition from 1903 to 1906. There were even hints of cannibalism in the form of cut marks on human bones. The current consensus is that pneumonia, tuberculosis, and a zinc deficiency contributed to the high death toll, along with hypothermia and starvation/malnutrition. There have been a number of studies examining the remains recovered from the graves and their vicinity on Beechey Island, as well as from King William Island. ![]() It's believed that everyone else died while encamped for the winter, or while attempting to walk back to civilization. Franklin himself died on June 11, 1847, per a surviving note dated the following April. When the weather cleared, the expedition sailed into the Victoria Strait before getting trapped in the ice off King William Island in September 1846. The crew spent the winter of 1845-1846 on Beechey Island, where the graves of three crew members were found. Historians have managed to piece together a reasonably credible rough account of what happened. The expedition set sail on and was last seen in July 1845 in Baffin Bay by the captains of two whaling ships. The Terror was actually a repurposed warship, having survived the War of 1812 among other skirmishes. (Season 2 of the TV show, set in the Japanese internment camps of World War II, is currently airing.) Novelist Dan Simmons immortalized the expedition in his 2007 horror novel, The Terror, which was later adapted into an anthology TV series for AMC in 2018. It's been an enduring mystery that has captured imaginations ever since. Franklin's two ships, the HMS Erebus and the HMS Terror, became icebound in the Victoria Strait, and all 129 crew members ultimately died. Franklin's doomed Arctic expedition to cross the Northwest Passage in 1846. Parks Canada has released new images from the first underwater exploration of the shipwreck of the HMS Terror. The ongoing study of the shipwreck and its artifacts should shed more light on Captain Sir John S. New images from the shipwreck of the HMS Terror could shed new light on what happened to the 1845 Arctic expedition. ![]() This way, the latency can be kept at a minimum which will make it easier to play software instruments and create tight recordings. When setting the buffer size, the aim is to find the lowest possible value that still provides clean audio playback and recording. If you want to set an in-between number suitable for most recording and mixing duties, 256 or 512 will suffice. Thus, a buffer size of 1024 is more suitable. If mixing with a lot of plug-ins, you will want to give your computer more processing time. To reduce latency while recording, we recommend using a lower buffer size of 128. Lower values may be chosen on purpose-built computers for audio production. ![]() We recommend using one of the following values: 128, 256, 512, or 1024. If using WASAPI Exclusive Mode, you will be able to adjust the Buffer size directly via the slider. There you can adjust the application's Buffer Size. In this example with MASCHINE when using an ASIO driver, you will find an option labeled Open Panel. The Buffer Size field defines the amount of time an audio application has to process the audio signal. Choosing a higher sample rate can further enhance the sound quality, but this also places a higher workload on the computer. A sample rate of 48000 Hz is common for use with pro audio equipment. A sample rate of 44100 Hz equals CD Quality. The higher the sample rate, the better the sound quality. The Sample Rate field defines the audio quality during recording and playback. Here is where you choose the specific audio device you're using. ![]() Option 4: Some DAWs also offer Windows' default WASAPI driver in Shared or Exclusive Mode: In case ASIO4ALL doesn't improve the performance, please try it out. Option 3: Some DAWs offer a Generic Low Latency ASIO Driver. Note: Watch this video to learn how to configure ASIO4ALL for your sound card. You can download the latest ASIO4ALL driver from their website. Option 2: You can download and install ASIO4ALL, a generic ASIO driver. If a dedicated ASIO driver is not available for your sound card, you have more options: To ensure best performance, please refer to your audio interface manufacturer's homepage and find out if it comes with a dedicated ASIO driver. An audio interface that provides its own ASIO driver usually performs better than using other options. Option 1: Typically, audio interfaces designed specifically for music recording and production have better performance and are equipped with ASIO drivers specific to the device. In this example, we are configuring a KOMPLETE AUDIO 6 Mk2 in MASCHINE's Preferences. The Audio Preferences in your DAW or NI application will always have certain features in common, namely, the possibility to configure an Audio Driver, Device, Sample Rate, and Buffer. Though we have successfully tested them in-house for some time, we cannot guarantee their functionality and safety. And the Times’s app is hardly the only game in town. At $39.99 a subscription, that’s over $20 million in crossword bucks per year. In 2019, the Times crossword app had over half a million subscribers, double what they’d had the previous year. Before then, the Times had outsourced the game to another company’s platform, but since the app was doing so well, corporate decided to expand the operation. The Times’s crossword app has been housed in-house since 2014. But now, the New York Times and the New York Times crossword became distinct entities. But in 2012, for the first time in the then-seventy-year history of the Times’s crossword, the puzzle-at least, the digital version-got monetized. Originally, the online version, like its print counterpart, got bundled with the paper a subscription to the digital Times also gave you access to that day’s crossword puzzle online. You can begin the puzzle on your phone in the subway, plug away on your desktop at work, and finish it on your tablet at night. The digital Times puzzle was developed to be the equivalent of carrying around a folded-over Arts section in your pocket, something that follows you on all your screens. The New York Times launched its digital crossword in 1997, fifty-five years after the puzzle’s print debut in that paper. In the digital age, the puzzle has only continued to prove its cockroachlike ability to adapt while remaining exactly the same. Computers have hardly made the crossword obsolete. Overall they won 58 games en-route to the Midwest title (that’s what the division was called in those days) and were 2nd in the West. Those moves, under the guidance of coach Rudy Tomjanovich, helped the Rockets win their first 15 games that season. ![]() ![]() Then they acquired Mario Elie from Portland, giving them a versatile 2-way wing. Even when you take into consideration injuries, the team left standing at the end of the year is the best team that year because they proved it. As a fan of the Houston Rockets, my focus today is on the 1994-1995 World Champion Houston Rockets and why their title run was the greatest in NBA history.Īll NBA team champions must be celebrated by those who discuss them as the arduous nature of the long season combined with now having to win 4 seven game series concurently in the post season, generally produces the best team that season (I’m aware of the 5 game 1st round series played by champions pre-2003 season). Those transactions hopefully produce what any GM making those moves longs for, a World Title. Championship teams are built, not just in one transaction, but in a series of transactions. These fans love to wax nostalgic over their sports champions of the past with present platitudes of the result of the teams success, but not the process in which they achieved it.
